Developer Jonathan Peizer, Program Director of the Open Society Institute (OSI), has written about the importance of capacity and its unique context in the nonprofit sector for some years now. Through his work with NGOs and philanthropy
he became aware of many useful nonprofit capacity resources and
envisioned an easy place to access them all. He says, "It is an
easy to use, utilitarian resource with sector-wide applicability that
did not require years or cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to
create."
